GOLD OF SKULLS  is a new Free-to-play, client-based collectible card game developed by a team with top-tier talents who worked for Netflix and Disney.

The game seamlessly combines turn-based auto-battler mechanics with rich RPG elements and deep tactical gameplay. Players lead teams of fantastical heroes through complex PvP and PvE battles in a world where the boundaries between life and death are intricately intertwined.

GAME STYLE

The game's visuals were crafted by a powerhouse team of professionals, including artists from Disney, Netflix, Melnitsa, and Parovoz. Daniil Kuzmichev, a Russian comic artist known for his controversial work, served as the art director and created the first hero expansion images for GoS.

GOLD OF SKULLS immerses players in a dark fantasy world, rich in graveyard themes and seasoned with humor. This game is destined to attract card game fans, followers of Blizzard's mechanics, and enthusiasts of Tim Burton's work.

KEY GAME FEATURES

Hero Progression

In GOLD OF SKULLS, heroes gain experience and automatically level up to a maximum Level 50 by participating in PvP and PvE matches. Upon leveling up, players are awarded stat points to allocate towards enhancing their hero's Strength, Intelligence, Dexterity, Accuracy, Speed, and Stamina. The distribution of these points determines the hero's classification into one of three classes: Brute, Mage, or Trickster. A balanced distribution of battle stats (STR, INT, and DEX) turns a hero into a versatile, all-rounded fighter, capable of handling various combat scenarios.

Hero Roles

Heroes can fulfill various roles based on their abilities and the player's choice of arsenal, acting as tanks, damage dealers (DPS), healers, crowd controllers, or combining multiple roles for strategic depth.

The game features an extensive arsenal of weapons and artifacts. Each weapon card equips a hero with an additional ability, allowing for flexible customization.

Additionally, heroes can be enhanced with passive abilities through artifact cards, which provide constant effects without requiring active player engagement during battles.


Summonable Structures

Certain heroes have the unique ability to summon structures with automatic abilities. To deploy a structure on the battlefield, one of the three slots between the opposing teams must be available. These summoned structures can obstruct visibility and hinder targeting for both teams.

Eight Schools of Magic

The game categorizes each card under one of eight magical schools, which influence damage calculations during combat. For instance, Water deals double (x2) damage to Fire but is half (x0.5) as effective against Nature, introducing a layer of strategic decision-making based on magical affiliations.

Varied Combat Mechanics

GOLD OF SKULLS features a rich array of combat mechanics, including DOTs (Damage Over Time), HOTs (Healing Over Time), buffs, debuffs, crowd control, delayed explosions, lethal stackable debuffs, and timers. This diversity allows players to craft numerous strategic combinations, providing limitless tactical opportunities.

Secrets and Easter Eggs

Exploration and curiosity within the world of GoS are encouraged and rewarded. The game is imbued with hidden mechanics and special events to enrich the gaming experience.

Fair Play

Hero balance is a key focus to ensure gameplay fairness. Success in GOLD OF SKULLS hinges on player skill and strategic intelligence, ensuring an equitable competitive environment.


GAMEPLAY

To participate in a battle, players need to create a deck of either 3 or 6 Hero cards, depending on the selected mode. Each Hero in battle can use three abilities. Two of these are heroic — unique abilities that distinguish the hero from others. The third ability, "Slam," is initially the same for all. This ability can be replaced with a Weapon card from the player's collection.

In GoS, cards do not duplicate. Each Hero, Weapon, and Artifact is unique to the player. An item card cannot be equipped to multiple Heroes simultaneously.

Game Modes

  • Standard 3v3 PvP mode: Short matches, ideal for beginners. Allows for quick gold and experience farming. Players build a deck from their collection.
  • Ranked 6v6 PvP mode: Long matches, ideal for advanced players. Enables players to earn points and climb the Rating ladder. Players build a deck from their collection.
  • PvP Arena mode: A series of matches until 3 losses. The deck is assembled by the player from options provided by the game. Ideal for treasure hunting. Suitable for experienced and lucky players. The number of victories increases the loot size. Entry to the arena requires some gold.
  • PvE Adventure mode (Coming Soon): A rogue-like series of matches until the first loss. Ideal for fans of randomness and novelties. Offers special rewards.


COLLECTION

The collection consists of Hero, Weapon, and Artifact cards, as well as cosmetic items such as Card Backs, Token Frames, and Stickers.

All these items can be obtained from Loot Crates, which can be earned as rewards or purchased with in-game currency - Gold. Hero cards can also be collected using another in-game currency — Bones. Players earn Gold for victories, achievements, and by clearing trash in the Graveyard. Bones are also found during trash-clearing events, and all duplicate cards are converted into Bones.
